The EFC Academy is an initiative of the European Financial Congress addressed to students and young graduates of finance and economics.
It aims to motivate and inspire them to take on exciting challenges they may face while carving out their professional careers. It also builds awareness that individual competence development contributes to economic and social development of their own countries and Europe.
The EFC Academy gives outstanding students access to practical knowledge through workshops and meetings with eminent international experts and visionary business leaders. In addition, participation in the European Financial Congress creates an opportunity for the EFC Academy members to join the debate on the future of the EU economy, especially with regard to career prospects for young graduates – problems faced by them on the threshold of their professional development paths and ideas how to resolve them.
In 2015, the European Financial Congress will be held under the Honorary Patronage of the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk.
Chairman of the Programme Board of the European Financial Congress is Jan Krzysztof Bielecki, Prime Minister of Poland in 1991, President of the Economic Council to the Polish Prime Minister in 2010-2014.
The European Financial Congress focuses on three main subject areas:
- Security and development of the banking sector and capital market
- Sustainable financing of infrastructural projects
- Value-based management of enterprises
The event is organised by the Gdańsk Institute for Market Economics in cooperation with Bank Pekao SA, the Warsaw Stock Exchange, NDI SA and PKN Orlen SA.
Each year the Congress gathers executives, members of top management of banks and financial institutions, representatives of the European Union and member states' authorities, regulators, representatives of consulting firms as well as the academia.
